Administration & coordination

The administration and coordination section consists of two members, which are also the founders of the project:
Bernd Hoffmann, Federal Office for Radiation Protection, Berlin, Germany.
Bernd Hoffmann got a PhD in Physics and work as a scientist at the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection. He is the head of the section "Radon" as well as of the section "Natural occurring radioactive materials and residues". Since almost 20 years, he is specialized in the fields of Radon and radioactivity in building materials and advice the German government about strategies, techniques and solutions. He is working in corresponding national and European standardization committees.
 His main duties in this project are:

  • Planning of project infrastructure and time schedule
  • Coordination of the various sections
  • Modelling and Simulation

 

Marcus Hoffmann, Radon Competence Center RCC – SUPSI, Canobbio-Lugano, Switzerland.
Marcus Hoffmann got also a PhD in Physics and works as a researcher (especially in radon issues), computer administrator and lecturer in mathematics at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) in Ticino, the Italian Canton of Switzerland. Experienced in a wide field of building remediation since 2008 he also took part of several research programs funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and other national and international programs.
His main duties in this project are:

  • Planning of project infrastructure and time schedule
  • Coordination of the various sections
  • Web administrator of the homepage

Besides these duties, he is also member of the Basic Research and Modelling & Simulation working groups.
